Getting Started
Here is what to expect when getting started with individual therapy or couples therapy, either in person in San Francisco or online elsewhere in California.

Initial Phone Consultation
How does the initial consultation work?
I offer a free initial 20-minute phone consultation. We will talk briefly about what brings you to therapy, what you are looking for, and whether working together may be a good fit. If we decide to proceed, we can schedule an initial session.
Fees
What are the fees associated with therapy?
We can discuss fees during the initial call. My current fees are:
- Individual therapy: $240 for a typical 50-minute session. Longer sessions may be arranged in advance and are prorated.
- Couples therapy: $320 for a one-hour session or $640 for a two-hour session. Other session lengths are prorated.
What payment methods do you accept?
I accept personal checks and electronic payments, including Zelle and Venmo.
Using Insurance to Help Cover Expenses
Can I pay for sessions with my insurance?
I do not bill insurance directly. If you have out-of-network PPO benefits, I can provide a monthly receipt that you may submit to your insurer for possible reimbursement. You may also be able to use FSA or HSA funds. Check with your plan administrator to confirm your coverage.
Reduced Rate Therapy
Do you offer therapy at reduced rates?
I have several reduced fee slots, depending on the financial need and on the type of service offered. Please inquire for availability.
